We are so lucky to live in Florida, because we can live outdoors and use our pools all year long! Some visitors or former snowbirds are surprised to hear that we install fire-pits or outdoor fireplaces in some of our customers’ outdoor spaces.

But it’s true! Even though we don’t always need the heat of a fire, both fire-pits and outdoor fireplaces can make great additions to your pool area.

For one thing, there’s nothing like the ambiance of a glowing fire and the crackle it makes. It naturally draws people in, so most outdoor seating areas are centered around a fire, if one exists. A fireplace or fire-pit also lends a beautiful color to the surrounding area – almost like a continual sunset.

And, of course in the few weeks or month that Florida does experience “winter”, it’s wonderful to be able to sit outside enjoying the fresh air… and warming yourself by the fire.

When considering whether an outdoor fireplace or fire-pit could work in your backyard , ask yourself the following questions:

Will I be entertaining?
If you have parties or entertain several guests, you may want a larger fireplace or pit than others. A larger structure will naturally provide more heat over a greater area. Seating should be a concern.

How large is my space?
If you have a smaller home or pool, keep that in mind when choosing a fire-pit, you’ll want something that blends with the entire space – not one that overshadows the rest of the area.

What other features will you want?
If you’re also considering a bar area or entertainment center, then you will want to map out a plan before adding any major design element.

Creating an ultimate outdoor environment in your backyard is what we excel at. To learn more about what we can do for you, please download our free eBook: 12 Ways to Revitalize Your Outdoor Living Area.

You’ll learn how tanning ledges, bubblers, creative lighting, water features and more can accentuate your backyard and let you live the life of luxury that you deserve.
