One of the most overlooked, but very important features is the lighting system. Your swimming pool’s lights make the entire area exceptional to view at night.
What type of lighting should you choose? LED or fiber optic lights?
LED lights usually cost less to install than fiber optic lights. Fiber optic lights also come in a system that have more (and more expensive) parts to replace. Over the long term, LED lights may save you money.
To replace an LED light, you need to bring the sealed housing above the water level where the light can be changed. Fiber optic pool lights are not housed underwater – they are located in a box above ground and the light must travel through a cable to reach its ultimate destination (your pool).
If you love looking out at your pool at night, imagine how fun it would be to see it light up in a beautiful display of colors. With inexpensive pool lighting, you can have the entire rainbow at your fingertips.
What about multiple colors? Lights that change? A sequence of a color spectrum? Everything is possible. Change lighting to match your holiday decor or to celebrate a birthday. Get ready for some dramatic visuals. A pool lit with colorful lights is a pool that’s ready for a party.
Fortunately for today’s buyers, improvements in energy efficiency mean that a well-lit pool won’t break the bank. LED lights are incredibly cost efficient to operate. Above-ground compact fluorescent bulbs also provide energy savings.
